I dragged my heels on sock 2, casting on on January 6th, 2019.

I made it to the heel in 2 days, and then sat on it until February 6th or 7th, when I pushed through the heel, foot, and toe in a bit of a marathon, so I could send the socks to mom for Valentine's Day.

Notes

I made mom a pair of socks—my first—back in November, 2018 (see my Time Traveler Socks project). I brought them home and gave them to her for Christmas. While there (Ft. Myers, FL), I picked up 4 more skeins of Patons Kroy, 2 in Woodsie, and 2 in Brown Rose Marl. I managed to knit another sock in time for Christmas, in Woodsie (started on the drive to/finished at mom’s cabin in Pigeon Forge, TN), and knit the other one up during the rest of my vacation there, after Christmas (see my Susan B. Anderson socks project). I managed to start another pair while there, and almost finished the first one (this project). I finished it on the plane flights home. A few days later I cast on the second sock, knit to the heel, then lingered for a month, and finally pushed through to finish, in time to send these off to her for Valentine’s Day. She got them the day before, and waited until the day of to open them while on the phone with me. She loved them. She loves Hermione and Harry Potter, loved the color, and texture of the socks, and loved getting a present when she wasn’t expecting one at all.
