Hermione's Everyday Socks
I cast on the first sock while watching TV in the cabin, mom asleep upstairs, on December 30th, 2018.
Heel flap!
I do like this texture.
Working the foot of the first sock on the way to the airport on January 3rd, 2019. This knit crossed the new year!
Still working on the first flight.
On another flight, my light is broken, my neighbor's light is super dim, and he's asleep, so I use, and do my best. Have you ever danced with the kitchener stitch in the pale lamp light? I *hoped* I was doing it right.
Finished the sock on my last flight.
The first sock is 41g.
13g left of yarn. Cuff-down is always scary, and wasteful. Knit the leg too long, you run out, too short, you have a bunch of scrap.
11g without the label.
The new skein for sock 2 is 54g.
51g without the label.
I dragged my heels on sock 2, casting on on January 6th, 2019.
I made it to the heel in 2 days, and then sat on it until February 6th or 7th, when I pushed through the heel, foot, and toe in a bit of a marathon, so I could send the socks to mom for Valentine's Day.
First sock has lost 1g, care of a new year's resolution (and a scale that's a little flaky).
Second sock is 39g, or maybe 40g. The scale wiggles a little.
14g of leftover yarn.
13g without the label.
Both socks are 79g
They match! Time to send them to mom.
