Feb 27/14: holy cow, this is gorgeous already. It looks like it’ll be a quick project too, which is fantastic. Update: I’ve got only 3-1/2 balls of this cotton to use up before this blanket is done, so I’ll probably be done tomorrow. I suspect I will curse the number of ends I’ve left to weave in. Also, I made a few counting errors, andadjusted in later rows as the lack of increases/decreases didn’t result in a noticeable change in the pattern. Still, it’s gorgeous.

Feb 28/14: I’ve managed to use up all of the Slate Blue and intend to use up as much of the Navy Blue as I can without making the border disproportional. Hrm. Based on others’ projects, it looks like I’m going to have to refine my CDDs.

Mar 1/14: So. Many. Ends. To. Weave. Update: Yay! I finished the numbers for my taxes! I can return to my regulary-scheduled knitting. It only took me two nights to get my Excel workbook back in order. Yippee!

Mar 4/14: I soaked yesterday for about 1-1/2 hrs in a double-sink basin filled with water, a bit of dish soap, a capful of bleach and about a cup of white vinegar. The end result was a distressed slate blue but an untouched navy blue section. I like it! Since finishing the knitting, I’ve looked up how to make CDDs using combination knitting, so that’ll be ready for my next iteration of this blanket.
