Notes

Notes: crochet chain 149; p.u. 149 sts; slipping 1st st of every row, work in chart; purl row; k back longer than front (by accident); purl row; knit front hem section; unpick crochet c.ol, transferring live stitches to cable needle; Kitchener Stitch blanket closed; mattress stitch to sew up side seams

Here’s a link for those looking for the chart (PDF download). Here’s an alternate link to a grayscale JPG.

Nov 9/14: yarn arrived on the 7th, c.o. last night. Update: the Intarisia has already been started!

Nov 11/14: blurg. Had to rip out a few rows of work last night when I realized I’d made a mistake in the first row in which I added the small gray ball. I’m going to have to be insanely fastidious about it this time around.

Nov 17/14: almost done the chart (I’ve got about six rows left). Then it’s miles and miles of stockinette which I should be able to zip through.

Nov 19/14: the chart’s all done! I’ve got 17 rows of stockinette left on the front! Update: I’m now officially working on the back.

Nov 21/14: had to rip out a-day-and-a-half’s worth of work when I realized I was never going to be happy with the side seams I achieved when picking up sts and knitting them together with the edge sts. Have changed my game plan as far as how to seam this now.

Nov 22/14: Yay! I’ve caught back up to yesterday’s rip-out point.

Nov 23/14: and miles and miles of stockinette. Ah well, at least it’s going quickly.

Nov 25/14: just another 47 rows to go…Update: 18 rows left to go and an episode of Flash to watch in under an hour…Second update: just seaming and blocking left!!!

Nov 26/14: almost done seaming up the sides when I realized that I knit too many rows for the back. I can either rip those out and finish seaming or work a purl row and commence knitting up the front (which is the more likely option, if more work). Update: all the seaming is done! I thought it would never end! It literally took an hour of mattress seaming per side before I got to the point at which I realized I had knit the back longer than the front.

Nov 27/14: steam-blocked!

Dec 6/14: shipped today. Should arrive by the 9th.
