Jan 16/24: yarn ordered for this project yesterday evening.

Jan 31/24: yarn arrived on the 30th. I c.o. last night for the Adult Large. Reviewing my notes from the last time I made this shows that I knitted a yarn ear band, then switched to Adult Small for the rest of the bonnet. Jess has informed me that her friend’s head is fairly small, so I think I’ll just do that again. Was able to take a pic this morning of the band, half-finished. Update: ear band completed tonight, grafted the ends closed.

Feb 1/24: was up a bit earlier than usual today, so started picking up sts for the remainder of the bonnet. About half-done those.

Feb 2/24: completed the smocking section last night, on to the garter st edge. Update: all the knitting is done, with 90g used so far. Blocking now.

Feb 4/24: the knitted portion is dry today. I’m likely to work on the pom pom and ties tomorrow and attach them. I’m trying to plow through as much of the second dishmat today, Sunday, as I can.

Feb 24/24: hat was picked up today, during a lovely visit with Bruce, Jess and Evayne.
