Notes: instead of the chain starts that I’m being asked to work, I’ve been doing Magic Ring. It’s working well. Also, I think I’ll probably i-cord knit the tails, since the whip stitched rectangles the pattern calls for don’t seem like they’d be as aesthetically pleasing.
Nov 29/20: bought the yarn for this project today and have already begun crocheting Pete’s head. I’m going to need to add the yarns to my Rav stash so that I can link them to the project.
Nov 30/20: think I’ll work these up by making one piece at a time in each colour.
Dec 1/20: finished the second head and both bodies yesterday. On to the fiddly bits.
Dec 2/20: both sets of ears completed yesterday.
Dec 4/20: powered through getting all of the legs done yesterday, and attached the heads to the bodies. I was having trouble with placing the legs, so I stopped there. I suspect I’ll finish sewing these together today, and maybe get around to figuring out the eyes. Update: all sewn up! Tomorrow’s likely to be spent on painting and placing the felt -- I’ll probably have to pick up some fabric glue.
Dec 5/20: crocheted a test swatch today and have attempted to affix felt using Gorilla Glue and Super 77 (the fabric glue that Matt picked up from Michaels last night states it’s a no-go on felt). Hopefully, one of these works out and I can proceed to painting details onto the felt.
Dec 6/20: after initially promising results with Gorilla Glue, the bond just isn’t strong enough that I’ll be satisfied with its staying power. I’m going to end up sewing the features on, and going with the more book-inspired aesthetic than the animated show’s.
Dec 7/20: eyes are painted! I’m going to be sewing on the features today. Update: finished! Will message Joseph in moments. I’m really happy with how they turned out.
Dec 10/20: they were picked up yesterday.
