Jun 17/21: wound yarn last night.
Jul 6/21: began today!
Jul 7/21: “finished” the crown portions of the motif yesterday. Update finished the hats today.
Jul 10/21: one row from completing the colourwork! Update: colourwork complete. :)
Jul 15/21: just began the straightaway for the torso!
Jul 16/21: made good progress today while ‘Tuna and I were watching her new second-favourite Ghibli movie, Castle in the Sky: Laputa.
Jul 18/21: just about to work the sewn b.o. for the hemline.
Jul 19/21: sewn b.o. hem complete, tried the bodice on Tuna today. It’s predictably large, like they want it. On to the sleeves.
Jul 22/21: picked up for the sleeves last night and began knitting. Now on my final cake of the brown yarn.
Jul 27/21: decreased 12 times (instead of 13) for the sleeves to get to the pattern-recommended 15” length for this size, began the cuff. Am about 1” into those as of last night when I “ran out” of yarn (I have enough to work a sewn b.o. on each side). This means that the amount of MC yarn recommended for the smallest size falls a bit short. Fortunately, the recipient is good with it as is, so I’ll work the b.o. today and probably get started on the hood. Update: ‘Tuna wants MC cuffs, so it’s going to be the shorter length. I bound off and started the hood.
Jul 28/21: almost done, just working the hood trim now!
Jul 29/21: finished the hood last night. I just have to block, but today’s rainy (so far), so I’m not doing it now. Any way, ‘Tuna wants to wear it so they can be “cottagecore”.
Aug 15/21: first cool, sunny, low-humidity day that we’ve been home since these were off the needles, so I blocked the piece today! It softened so much.
