baby socks with the colours of the Libyan Independence Flag and the Amazigh Flag (natives of Morroco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya). i started knitting these during the revolution war Feb17 2011. baby socks for a new beginning. thus the name expressed my wishes for a free Libya.

the yellow,green,turqoise are for the amazigh flag. have yet to embroider the symbol of ‘free man’ on to the green section to complete the flag.

the amazigh are the indigenious peoples of north africa. the colours of the amazigh flag symbolize the landscape they inhabit:
blue for the atlantic and mediterranean, green for the atlas mountains and yellow for the sand of the sahara desert. native language is tamazight.
