2/18/11: so I’ve worn this sweater 2 or 3 times now… can’t really button it but it looks great open (should have sized up the front due to large chestedness-- note to other DD girls!). Need to get some pictures this weekend. I want to make another but bigger and with a different colorwork pattern!!

1/30/11: Finished! Blocking now. Need to sew on buttons and take better pictures.

1/29/11: In the past few days, I’ve finished the sleeves and the shoulders, run out of yarn, bought another skein (in a different dye lot) and cut my very first steek. Went with the machine sewn steek because it was the only way I foresaw myself not peeing as I cut open my precious knitting. Picture at left.

1/25/11: finally picked this up again… made sleeves a few birds longer than the pattern to make them almost full length. attached sleeves to body… almost done! i’m going to run out of the gray color though :(

11/7/10: sleeves are still going, slowly…. hardly ever work on them because they are a pain, but one day this sweater will be done!

3/10/10: haven’t worked on this at all in weeks. don’t like the way the sleeve increases work, but really don’t want to rip it all out. sigh.

2/10/10: started the sleeves today. doing them two-at-a-time. took a break for awhile but it’s coming along again.

11/29/09: completed one row of birds. this is coming along faster than i expected.

11/27/09: ribbing sucks. i wish the RS and WS were reversed (so the “beads” of the beaded ribbing were on the knit side)… it would make this go a lot faster. i wish i had thought of it before but i can’t bear ripping out this cast on and starting again. sigh. just past 2nd buttonhole… a couple days left of this hopefully and i’ll be on to the birds!

11/24/09: bought this yarn yesterday at BK general for 25% off. so excited to get started! cast on last night in a very dark bar… kind of insanely annoying, but turned out ok (see camera phone pic)
