Top down.
The stars are intarsia. I used for them the stellina yarn or this yarn together with another yellow leftover, held double. So the stars are thicker yarn than the background, which is made from the leftovers, yarns of different weight and thickness.
The background pattern is just something between stockinette and garter. I stoppt the purled stiches near the stars.
