Notes

While the general structure is that of a basic pullover, the genius in this pattern is the striping sequences - the project is a bit fiddly and requires yarn ball juggling but the colour charts take a huge load off the mind in knitting a fun garment.

As I was knitting I thought that my choice of a variegated yarn so close to a few of the other colours was a mistake, but the more I look at it the more I love the slight variation that it brings.

For the body
I knit my body to a medium length between the short and long versions.

I didn’t have 3mm HiyaHiya sharps for the ribbing so I used 3.25mm - it may have looked better with a 2.75mm but I’ll know once I’ve blocked it (I’m not a fan of stripes in ribbing but it looks okay from a distance which is where most people will view it from).

I did a few extra rounds of ribbing working it from Section 3 sequence round 36 to round 5 of the additional sequence.

For the tubular bind-off, do the final row of ribbing and then do the bind-off with the same coloured yarn (at first I changed colour for the bind-off and it didn’t look good so I had to rip back, knit another round and then start the bind-off again). Doing set-up rows for the tubular bind-off might also be helpful but I didn’t do that.

Approximate yarn usage on the body:
C1: 31g
C2: 27g
C3: 31g
C4: 40g
C5: 43g

I knit the neck band next in case I was going to run out of yarn on the sleeves because I could adjust their length but I needn’t have worried, I had plenty!

I matched up the start of the sleeve ribbing with the body ribbing but I wanted the sleeves a bit longer so continued in ribbing for a few more rounds.

I had 59 yarn tails to weave in at the end :)

Yarn usage

Final weight: 265g

The yarns I used were as follows with (starting yarn weight) and yarn used:
C1: (62g) 48g Miss Click Clack - Merri Creek Sock - Oyster
C2: (48g) 41g Knit Picks - Stroll Fingering - Fedora
C3: (84g) 48g Miss Click Clack - Merri Creek Sock - There’s a Bear In There
C4: (106g) 63g Circus Tonic Handmade - Revelry Sock Fingering - Western Whipbird
C5: (98g) 65g Knit Picks Stroll Fingering - Thunderhead Tonal
