5/24 DONE. The BO took forever and I hate having to BO in purl on WS but, well, it was necessary for a little while. Washed the heck out of it and hoping it dries up uncrunchy. Anyway, shawlette is blocking now and looks great (blocking that curvy, irregular edge took forever, though, man); has the shape I wanted, totally. Think it will lay flat if spread out, and ruffle a little around the edges when on the shoulders, which it curves round nicely. Now excited to see a bigger (especially longer) version, which I have yarn for and will be working on once I’ve typed up the pattern to send out to test knitters - I’ll knit along with them. Which means, yes, pattern forthcoming.

5/24 50% of the way through the BO. Short-row feather shaping + FnF in the secondaries working out great. This size definitely a shoulderette, but that’s fine, it’s meant to be the small. Still some work to do to figure out how to reverse the short-rows on the opposite side, but, close now.

5/22 So much for having it all worked out. Will the frogging never end? At least all this re-working is softening the yarn. I suspect a good wash would fully un-crunch it and that it’ll end up with a nice fabric. Now back to… knitting, hopefully not frogging.

5/21/11 Think I have all but the very edging worked out, maybe even that, and Breaking News: Shortrows Are AWESOME. Liking this yarn more as time goes by; this pattern has more stockinette than I expected it would, and the stitch definition and variegation both work in its favour.

5/20/11 Curse my dedication towards Doing Things Right. re-working the last 6”.

5/2/11 In the works… :)

This yarn is a great colour and the drape is pretty nice, but it’s not super soft and it’s a bit thick. It’s not a perfect fit for this pattern and when it comes time I’ll advise the test-knitters to try other yarns (as well as working up another version myself, I think). However, it’s a great design-process yarn as it has great stitch definition, the heavier weight solidifies the pattern shapes, and it’s soooo easily frogged.
