Notes

I was very happy to test this pattern and found it to be extremely well written. I don’t have a huge amount of experience with amigurumi and at first glance my maths-shy brain was a little daunted by the instructions. I’m used to shawls with easily memorised repeats, but the secret weapon here is to always have a pen handy and tick off each row as you finish it. That and always, always have a stitch marker in the first stitch of each round.

Once I got started, it was easy to follow and you just need to read carefully and follow exactly what is written.

The shaping of the body is delightful with a cute rounded bottom and squishy fat tummy. I haven’t actually stuffed mine enough, but I’m working on my second and will put more stuffing in this time.

I decided to add a couple of eyelashes to make Oliver an Olivia!

Scarf

The pattern calls for a knitted scarf, but I chose to make one using tunisian crochet. I used two colours of variegated yarn over 7 stitches in tunisian simple stitch.
