um, there’s lots of little shaping things going on here. A bit of wedge above and below the thumb gusset. I will make the 2nd different and hopefully better than the 1st.

soooo…

I put a semi-Sweet Tomato Heel wedge at the wrist
then above the thumb a few short rows to better articulate it
and then another semi-Sweet Tomato Heel wedge that is opposite the wrist to balance the fingers.

and then there’s the thumb gusset proper.

I intend to make more of these. I think I will take more picture showing it 2/3s done so it makes more sense.

That will also help handknitters to better understand why I did the thumb separate from the hand. It can be made in one piece by hand but on the machine not so much.

Damn it! I got some other things to finish first!
