I was going to copy Frank Habit but now I’m copying someone else. Remember, flattery’s the highest complement.(if you are curious where my inspiration is, look at my favorites, there is a very talented lopi knitter there)
Like Habit I am changing a bunch of things starting with using the wrong yarn. I hope my conversion works. So my gauge is much tighter which is why size XL is really small.
colors aside from acorn used are
spring green
celery
green heather
pine green heather
uh I should also add I am making this top down because I just make all my sweaters top down.
I am also turning it into a cardigan.
Comparing it to other patterns it is advised to have 2 stitches for the steek but I’m going with 3.
I decided to make the sleeve’s edge colorwork the stitches from the bottom of the yoke and to make the cuff the main color. I think I will do something similar to the bottom of the sweater.
If I’m feeling ambitious and my yarn supply allows, I might add pockets.
No pockets. Am almost doen with hem. I need to get a zipper and it looks like I need 22”.
On 2nd thought, it needed a 24” zipper. Looks pretty good, just in time for late spring.
I should also note that I did some shaping. I made both the ribbed collar and bottom hem a bit longer in back. Just below the yoke before the sleeves I added a few extra rows in back. I also put int a bit of a bust dart. And below that after tapering the waist a bit I added a few more rows in back, then added extra stitches for my butt, maybe I could call them ‘butt darts.’ Anyway, it seems that everything falls into a fairly straight line.
