Notes

This project was started while I was on vacation in Jackson Hole, WY, where I have gone now for the last 9 years during the 4th of July break. The color of this yarn (greens and browns) reminds me of the pine woods out here--this is truly one of my favorite places to visit!

I used some of Hiroko’s mods for her bolero--longer sleeves, and a wider waist/neck band (15 rows of k1, p1). After the bind off for the neck, I did 3 repeats of chart A, did chart B once plus rows 9-16 once more, then charts C, D, E as written. I extended the hem (1x1 rib) to 15 rows to match the waist band.

The other thing I did (after knitting most of the sleeves with only one ball of yarn) was to change the ball of yarn every two rows because one of my skeins was clearly more greeny-blue than the others. There is a line where I changed the yarn (see the pic of the back of the sweater) but after I started alternating, it looks better.

I loved knitting this! I know everyone says to trust the pattern, but I was still skeptical until I knit it myself. A great pattern and I will love wearing this! Can’t wait to knit another one!
