Mark the increase side of cloth as (WS)
(enables counting ridges if knitting several same size cloths)
Mods: (color A for cup, color B for coffee)
Color A, knit 4 rows of garter st to begin
Work increases per pattern
Count 24 ridges on WS from cast on edge
Knit 1 row (WS)
(Intarsia) Adding Color B (coffee)
RS in Color
~ A knit 6, Color B knit 24, 2nd ball of Color A knit 6
~ A k5, B p26, A k5
~ A k4, B k28, A k4
~ A k3, B p30, A k3
~ A k2, B k32, A k2
~ A k1, B p34, A k1 (cut B)
Color A knit 3 rows
Note: Knit these last 3 rows with a smaller needle (I used a US6/4mm) to eliminate the dreaded curl/flip that happens when stockinette and garter st. meet.
Bind Off in knit (back to US8/5mm needle)
Do NOT cut yarn if adding handle below.
Handle: (no border)
using a size H or I crochet hook
After Binding Off, single crochet 1 st.
with WS facing you, insert hook along edge sts. from the back (which is the RS of cloth) and pull up a loop (2 sts. on hook on the RS of the dishcloth) see pics.
Bind off 1 st. (by pulling the st. you just created through the 1st st. on your hook, also called a slip stitch)
Repeat 2 more times.
Continue pulling up sts. (do not slip st) until you have 8 sts. on your hook. Turn work to RS.
Change to Double Pointed Needles. I used a US6/4mm needles
You may need to orient the stitches on your needles.
Work applied I cord and continuing with I cord handle and graft as per pattern (starting at row 11 of pattern).
Yellow cup is knit with Sugar n Cream, Yellow & Terra Firma
