Seems I am a bit addicted to making baskets lately. I think they make great gifts and there are so fun to make. This is my third hook and needle basket.
For the base, I followed the instructions for the mosaic basket base, Increasing to 42 stitches. Then a round of HDC. Sl st to end round. CH1, then a round of single crochet into the 3rd loop of the HDC for a nice definition of where the sides begin. Sl st to end round.
