Tried something a little different for this one. Did not like how the holes were formed in the crotch of the vees because of skipping two stitches on either side of the HDC. So I tried just skipping one stitch on either side of the HDC. Followed the pattern as written but to make it larger, increased to nine rounds, doing single crochet in the vees on rounds 7, 8 & 9. This resulted in a beautiful star but it did not cup around the pot like the skip two stitches version does.
Really struggled with the strands coming off the star points. Had to use a smaller hook coming back toward the star from the ring.
