Used for Arithmancy OWL, Spring 2012.

7/23/2012 I am making the Large size, so I cast on 102 sts like the pattern calls for. I didn’t think about it at the time, but 102 isn’t divisible by 4, so k2p2 ribbing doesn’t work. I got to the last 2 sts and did k1p1 instead of having 4 knit sts in a row (2 from the end of the row and 2 from the beginning). This will probably drive me crazy later, but I don’t have time to go back and fix it.

7/24/2012 Did 8 rows of ribbing instead of 7… Because apparently I can’t count. =P

7/25/2012 Just started the decreases. This hat is huge already, so I might have to skip the knit rows in between decrease rows to keep it from being down to my nose.

7/26/2012 Had to alter the decreases so it wouldn’t be too long and because I was running out of yarn. It’s boxy at the top, so definitely not my favorite hat! It would have been way too long if I had made it as written, and I have a super huge head.

I also would have moved the stripes down some. If making again, I wouldn’t do 20 rows before the stripes.. Maybe 10-15.
