04/03 - Section 7 complete. 159 sts OTN. 28g rem. I’m going to knit several rows of garter. Haven’t decided on the BO.
04/02 - Section 6 complete. 148 sts OTN. 40g rem. I have enough to do another section and will probably wing the ending.
03/31 - Section 6 Row 3 stitch count is correct but beginning and end of row is +/- 2 sts. I adjusted the stitches to match the pattern. If I wasn’t using stitch markers I doubt I’d have noticed the error. Moving on.
03/30 - Section 5 complete. 60g rem.
03/27 - The beads are slowing me down to a crawl, but it makes me happy to do beadwork again! I’ve added stitchmarkers between repeats so I don’t have to count so much. The shawl has a nice weight with the beads on random rows.
03/21 - Ripped out Section 3 to add a few beads. It needed some bling. Much better.
03/20 - My beads are in! My OCD is kicking in, making me want to rip out a lace section to add beads to it. Not sure if I want to add more hours to this shawl instead of moving on…
03/17 - 106 sts OTN. While the yarn itself is enjoyable to knit, I’m a little disappointed that it’s color-blocked instead of gradient. Stopping to work on the other shawl till the beads get here. I haven’t decided the order of the bead colors, and may change my mind and do one color only. Love knitting this!!
03/10 - Section 1 completed. 64 sts OTN.
03/08 - CO with US6. I plan to use up as much yarn as possible!
Today is my one year anniversary of my (7th) stroke. I’m celebrating by casting on this new shawl!

This project page was originally set up in 2015 when Mary Lee (OPknitter) sent me this beautiful postcard while I was recovering from another stroke. I was so fascinated with the stories of Assateague Island, the song “Wild Horses” by The Rolling Stones came to mind. I’ve added pictures of some of these beautiful creatures. Thank you, Mary Lee!
