Notes

Wasn’t going to do it, but can’t resist the temptation of the 2019 Lambtown KAL. I set out to honor a couple of my favorite longtime Lambtown vendors: Shaggy Bear Farms and Meridian Jacobs.

Using sportweight yarn, sz US10 needle.

Mods: yo1 in the dropped stitch stripe instead of yo2 (to keep my long skinny fingers from getting caught).
Winging it on the garter stripe rows - in some cases I do the 8 rows as written in the pattern, but in other cases I do more or less.

Yarn details:

Shaggy Bear Farms Gotland yarn, acid-dyed by Wendy of Shaggy Bear. Sheep Gotti, Gunther, and Gretel fiber was blended to make this yarn. I met Wendy when we were in middle school.

The pale blue is California Red fiber from sheep that live ‘down the street’ at Forest Home Farms, handspun by me and dyed with woad from my dye garden.

The medium blue is Meridian Jacobs Timm Ranch local blend (Targhee, Polypay, Rambouillet) yarn dyed with fresh leaf Japanese indigo from my dye garden. I’ve been in the Meridian Jacobs Farm Club for many years now, and naturally dyeing local fiber and yarn is one of my favorite things to do.

The darkest blue is Meridian Jacobs Timm Ranch local blend yarn dyed with dried leaf Japanese indigo from my dye garden.
