Round 3: #k5, k2tog# Repeat from # to # to the end (48 sts)
Round 5: #k4, k2tog# Repeat from # to # to the end (40 sts)
Round 7: #k3, k2tog# Repeat from # to # to the end (32 sts)

At round 8 switch to a darker color. Knit all stitches. Continue the decrease rounds on every other round (even rounds: knit all stitches):

Round 9: #k2, k2tog# Repeat from # to # to the end (24 sts)
Round 11: #k1, k2tog# Repeat from # to # to the end (16 sts)
Round 13: k2tog to the end (8 sts)

You will now have 8 stitches on the needle. Knit 3 rounds in stockinette stitch. Break the yarn and pull it through the remaining stitches. Weave in all ends.
