Love, love, love this scrappy project!!

I did it! I finished my Happy Scrappy Blankie! My goal was February 2 (the one year anniversary of the start of my medical issues) so I did it with about a week & a half to spare. Knitting on this blanket has seen me through so many difficult things in the past year - being hospitalized three different times for a total of 14 days, my blood pressure spiking incredibly high, having an eye stroke & losing vision in my right eye, suffering multiple bilateral pulmonary embolisms (lots of blood clots in both lungs), discovering I am severely anemic, finding out I have Factor Two Prothrombin (a blood clotting disorder), passing out a few times, losing a huge amount of blood due to a 20 day menstrual period, getting two blood transfusions, having a uterine ablation, and suffering with a burst ovarian cyst…not to mention all the medications I’m now taking and all the rest and recovery time I’ve needed. The doctors have said that each of the three times I was hospitalized I could’ve easily died. But praise the Lord that He saved me. I’m not sure why but I know my work here is not finished. Through it all I worked on this beautiful blanket. It has been incredibly therapeutic for me. Sometimes I cried while I knit, sometimes I prayed while I knit, sometimes I laughed while I knit, and sometimes I just knit. It’s seen me through all the good times and bad times and scary times in the last year. When I look at this beautiful blanket I am overwhelmed with emotions. I love everything about it. I love the scrappy colors, I love how cuddly & cozy it is, I loved working on it and I know I’ll love snuggly up in it too. There are so many feelings and memories knit into every single stitch.
