I modified the pattern to be a bit smaller around (to match my slightly larger gauge) and also longer (to suit the chihuahua/Jack Russell recipient).

The skull pattern was modified from one I found online. I added it using duplicate stitch.

I created two skull charts, depending on which size would fit better on the finished product (images included).
