Going with an aran hat.

5/7/13 - researching stitch patterns…

6/23 - starting to design and swatch some patterns…
6/24 - have brim mapped out I think, starting to swatch.
6/25 - starting to knit brim.
6/26 - have all my charts charted, and the pattern pretty much all written. Not sure if the crown will work how I want, I’ll swatch just for that once I’m done with the brim.
6/30 - finished brim. blocking.
7/1 - recharted patttern based on my row count on the brim. Swatched a 1/3 width swatch of crown to see how it would look.
7/3 - re-charted since I thought I needed more stitches around for the width I want, but when I swatched that it was way too big, so I went back to my original chart, and just tweaked the crown a bit to provide more interest.
7/5 - started knitting the body of the hat.

8/15 - DONE! Now it just needs to be blocked and the ends woven in and the button sewn on. :-)
8/20 - It turned out perfect! I used a vintage button I got at SAFF a year or two ago. I just hope my bobbles are up to snuff and I don’t have too many loose cable stitches. (fingers crossed it passes)
On to the sweater!
10/2 - everyone loved the hat at Master Knitter Day! I hope that means it passes when it comes time to submit! :-)
3/17/14 - Mailing notebook!

10/25/14 - entered in Garment competition at SAFF, and it won first place plus Judge’s Choice!

3/23/15 - published pattern! Available as Ravelry download.
