Dec 29 - Swatching. Looks like I’ll have to go with smaller needles and make a large - I would be a small otherwise.
Jan 1 - New year, new project. C/O 68 for large. I think I’m crazy to knit a sweater out of such fine yarn but what the heck.
Jan 9 - I have one more repeat of the lace section to do then it’s time to divide the sleeves from the body, thank goodness. Each round is soooo looooong. Overall, it’s going well. I’m not overly crazy about the yarn, it knits up unevenly for me.
Jan 26 I’ve been knitting stockinette in the body for what feels like forever! I’m now at 32cm from the underarm and I think I need to go longer. Probably to about 35 - 36 cm. Only another 4 centimetres - I think I can I think I can I thi…
Feb 9 - I had one sleeve about done and tore half of it out. I have to remember not to use DPNs, I don’t like knitting with them and with this yarn the sleeve was coming out all lumpy and uneven. I switched to a small circ and it’s much better even though the stitches stretch quite a bit on the needle.
For the bottom I’ve tried the sideways garter rib, got lazy, then tried 1x1 rib, mistake, I thought I’d go back to the garter rib but I may have another plan…
Ended sleeves with 6 rows of garter. 3mms. Waiting for needles to come in the mail for the collar.
March 23 - Done!!
Bottom band: I decreased as the Buttercup variation calls for, then I knit 14 rows, purl 1 row, knit 14 rows. Then I folded along the purl row and attached the end to the inside stitches just under the decrease row. It was challenging, I had to do the band about 3 - 4 times because I must have been attaching the wrong stitches because the inside band was bunching a bit.
