Sept 15 - testing gauge today…
Sept 26 - I had a few mishaps with this one that I won’t go into… I frogged @ 15% and I’m starting over on 4mms. I decided to make the wrong side of the edging the right side, I think it looks much neater with one small stripe through it. For comparison, I posted a photo of the original edging before I frogged.
Oct 8 - Moving right along now, I’m getting used to the pattern finally - most of my projects lately have had a lot of stockinette and I’m not used to paying attention while I knit. I have just over 6” of length with 2 skeins done. I want to make the cardigan longer so I think I’ll knit another skein in so it’s 9” in length and then divide for the sleeves. Also, it may be too tight across the chest and if it is I’ll go with Hepsi’s mods to widen it along the button panel.
Oct. 17 - Just finished the front left panel this morning. With the edging I made it about 12” long from the armhole and I’m at about 3.75 skeins of yarn used.
Nov 19 - Took a photo of the vest part tonight, I noticed that the armholes are a bit tight. I’m going to open them up and add a couple of rows then 3 needle bind-off.
Dec 16 - Man, this sweater is taking awhile. Both sleeves are done. I lengthened the decrease section on the sleeves, they didn’t seem to fit when I followed the pattern. Way too small. Now to stitch this baby together!
Dec 22 - Sleeve #1 is on… I think this cardigan will be too small for me. I hope blocking is as magical as some say it is.
May 20 - Going to edge in black. I was bored of my eyelet eggplant which motivated me to get all my sewing done on this. Then I started to pick up stitches for the button band and realized the circ I need is on the eggplant sweater. Dang!
June 23 - All done! Photo is of the unblocked cardigan.
