Made foundation chain 114cm. Found making loop for cast on stitch really awkward when trying to do it around my finger, so just made it by twisting the yarn between my thumb and finger and then putting it on the hook. This is quick and easy for me.

Blanket is about 118cm wide.
It takes me around 40 minutes to work a lace pattern row.
The main pattern repeat is about 16cm deep.
I’m not sure I’ve given myself enough time to complete this blanket before baby is due.
I will time myself on a ribbing row when I do the next one and then calculate how much crochet time I need.
I can see it’s going to be more than two hours a day.
HDC row took 15 minutes.
Knit look rib stitch row took 15.35 minutes.
So ten rows of this stitch pattern will take 2.5 hours.

10 rows of the lace pattern would take 400 minutes.10 rows of the rib pattern would take 150 minutes.
I need to do about 7 repeats to make the length equal to the width.
70 rows of lace works out at about 46.7 hours.
70 rows of rib-17.5 hours.
Total of 64.2 hours.
I’ve already done two repeats so there’s about another 45 hours left.

I am now able to complete a lace row in 30 minutes so the project grows a little faster.
I have two pattern repeats left to do.

I finished after a rib block as I thought it would make a good top edge for the blanket.
I’ve darned in the ends. Now I need to send it in time for the birth.

Finished measurement was 88cm and 86cm long.
I used just over 9 balls of yarn.
I made a mini blanket for my granddaughters doll with the leftover yarn.
