One of my colleagues at work was expecting a little girl. I thought I had ages to knit her some little booties or some other cute little thing. Unfortunately baby Riley decided to make an early appearance at just 29 weeks and caught everyone unprepared.

I thought about knitting her a little premie jumper but as she’s in intensive care she’s not really wearing jumpers etc at the moment. Plus, I don’t really know how big she is! So I decided I’d make her a little bunny who can sit and watch over her while she gets stronger in hospital.

I love all the patterns in this book but thought a bunny was a safe choice. Simple pattern to follow and simple enough to sew up. One ball made everything but the final ear so only used a very small amount of a second ball.
