Fell in love with Stephens sample shawl in the shop immediately. Love the drape, size and weight!
After a first try with two strands of Malabrigo Sock, while trying to knit from stash, I decided to buy some Malabrigo Rios anyway, to get the squishy and full effect that two strands did not have.

Finished shawl, rather quick actually. It’s a pleasant knit and done just before it gets boring.
Casting off took a whole evening though, and I hope that after blocking the picot border will be less flared, as it is now.
I love it’s weight and feel around my shoulders, just like Stephens version that I fell in love with. Rios seems a very suitable choice. Used a bit more than expected or hoped, and bought and extra skein, but at least now there’s some yardage left for mittens or cuffs.

It’s not been blocked yet, but I could not resist wearing my Prowl for it’s first time today, outside in the rain. And I am so so happy with it! It’s warm, it’s elasticity (it is diagonal rib) makes it sit really good on my shoulders, and it matches and covers my (somewhat worn out) favorite coat perfectly. What more would a knitter want?

Adding a few rows from my leftover yarn, and will knit the picots with some smaller needles, 4.5 mm I guess, to get less flare.
The picot border takes 26.5 grams, the last increase row 7 grams. Maybe 8 extra normal rows should be possible, I have 90 grams to knit up, almost one skein of Rios.

I thought the border was a bit too flared and I had a leftover of more than half a skein. So, I ripped the last two rows, and did an extra repeat of the 8 eight rows at the last section. Then cast of with a smaller needle size, 4.5 mm. Shawl is bigger now and border seems a bit more flat.
Did not dare to block it again, after it grow so much the first time. That time the dryer came to the rescue but not sure if I dare doing so again.
I would like to regain some of the liveliness of the stitches again though, after blocking the first time they seem a bit ‘dead’ whereas the steamblocked stiches of the extra rows are much nicer and fuller. So I may have to tumble dry it once again.
