Another beautiful accessory pattern from Babycocktails - thank you so much for letting me test-knit this gorgeous pattern!

Absolutely LOVE all the special details in this mitt pattern - the extra-long cuff and the beautiful traveling cables make such a beautiful, warm, and dense texture - these are my new favorite mitts!

The first mitt used a total of 39 grams of yarn, the second mitt used a total of 38 grams. The long ribbed cuff used about 10 -11 grams, the hand section used approximately 26 grams, and the thumb used between 1 and 2 grams of yarn.

Increased to 13 stitches in the thumb gusset. When knitting the thumb I picked up one “ditch” stitch on each side of the cast-on stitches and then knitted the ditch stitch and cast-on stitch together on the first round to close the gap.

This is a great pattern too for practicing the cabling-without-a-cable-needle technique - I did use a cable needle on the very first cable row after the ribbing because the stitches were smaller and tighter from the ribbing on the smaller needles - but after that initial round, no more cable needle!

Take time to check your gauge - especially if substituting yarn - I had to go up one needle size to achieve gauge.
