Summery cotton version!
I added three sets of decreases and increases for a little waist shaping. After the three sets of increases, I wanted to keep the shape going outwards to wear over dresses/skirts, so I did the ribbing in the same size needle as the body and cast off in rib using the next size up needle (4.5mm in my case). This worked well as the ribbing doesn’t pull in (or flare out too much) - yay result.
I decided not to do a neckband, but I may add one later if it stretches too much (as cotton is prone to do).
I have done bracelet length sleeves; I find them more wearable with other things than 3/4s - I didn’t go for full length as I wanted to keep a summery feel.
My row gauge was a little off, so I think I split the sleeves slightly earlier.
11th July: All knitting finally finished, just need to sew in ends and block.
This took me a lot longer than it should’ve done for one reason and another, but I still finished it in time to wear this summer, and I’m happy about that.
August: Yes I think I will need to add a neckband as it has already stretched a bit, although I like the slouchy style too.
I love Isabell’s style and of course the pattern is great. As always, I’m very happy to have been part of this test :)
.
I’m pleasantly surprised by the yarn. Yes it can be a little splitty - but the finished knitting looks and feels lovely. It’s not too heavy because it’s a cotton mix, and the price is very low. So, I would definitely use this again - plus it comes in a good range of colours. The real test of course will come when I have worn and washed it a few times.
There will be no need to be overly precious or careful with this jumper. It can get ‘thrown’ around the garden or beach without too much worrying, as I worked out the amount of yarn I used only cost under £12!
…Not that I’m in the habit of throwing my jumpers around, but you know what I mean ;)
