Notes

The first sweater of the year! Intswemodo2012 & Sweater Odyssey #1

  • Swatch on 3.75mm: about 24sts x 28 rows. This works since the 36 size is a bit too big for me so I am hoping it comes out smaller. It actually came out to the 32 size. Ha.
  • Short/cap sleeves so this can be more of a vest/tee.
  • 4x4 stripes
  • There may be an errata: I think you need to increase 22 times to get the stitch count mentioned for the S and M sizes. Anyway, I did 21 because it was looking like it was wide enough for me. My arm numbers ended up being the same as the smallest size.
  • Knit hem border for 5cm/2”. Not too crazy about the vent.
  • Picked up 4 sts at each underarm and decreased
  • Worked sleeve cuff in garter st not back and forth
  • Most of the increases are M1L/M1A, but then I remembered to throw a couple of M1R’s in there.
  • A bit shorter than I usually like (cursed long torso), but it’s nice and light. I can wear just a t-shirt underneath and it’s not too hot or itchy.

Blocked Measurements:
Bust: 31”/79cm
Underarm to hem: 14”/35.5cm
Neck Opening: 10”/26cm
Total Length: 21”/53.3cm

Kauni: I love this yarn. Seriously, I have a crush on this yarn. If it were a man that proposed to me, I’d say yes and live happily ever after with him in Denmark. I got three balls one summer in Europe, reasonably priced for this beautiful yarn. It smells like sheep, it looks amazing and it’s just a bit rough, exactly how I like my yarn. I can’t afford it here, but I’d buy bagfuls of this yarn if I could. I chose to make Margot and with short sleeves because I wanted to use this yarn in a project that wasn’t neckwear. I still have enough left for a striped shawl though! Yay.

B&L Sport: A bit twiny, but inexpensive and it’s quite similar to the Kauni.

Photos taken Feb 7th, 2012: Just a note to say got hair cut for first time in couple years on this day too.
