This has to be the most impractical expensive blanket ever. But I heart it.

I recently got a new job as an auditor for a concrete company where I travel about once a month to the various plants. I figured this would be a great travel project. My goal is to make 1-2 squares for each audit trip.

06/18/08 - 06/19/08: Colorway 85/Morristown, TN

10/01/08 - 10/03/08: Colorways 182, 214, 213/Memphis and Nashville, TN

01/21/09 - Due to the crappy economy, all of my audit trips have been cancelled permanently. Maybe it’s time to look for a new job…

03/15/09 - 03/17/09: Colorways 240, 195, 154/Lakeland, FL (Special Roof Tile Mortar Testing)

10/11/09 - 10/13/09: Colorways 252, 236, 84 (Silk Garden/Denver, CO - (Special Concentrate Plant audit)

03/21/10 - Only 3 more squares to go! It looks like I’ll be repeating a few colorways of the Kureyon (40, 220, and 240). I had originally planned to NOT repeat any colorways. However, during my quest to obtain all of the Noro, I accidentally purchased a few of the same colorways. I always seemed to be drawn to the same colorways. For awhile I was keeping a handwritten list of each colorway I got as I obtained them, so that I wouldn’t purchase the same colors. That worked OK for a bit until I had 20+ colorways, then I couldn’t keep track of it. That’s when I had to make a spreadsheet and it organized numerically by colorway.

04/13/10 - 56 squares knitted and all the ends have been woven in. Now it’s time to sew up this mofo.

10/2/10 - All of the individual squares have been sewn into “panels’. Not time to seam the panels together.

11/14/10 - All sewn up. Now to weave in the ends from my sewing yarn and to add the border!

1/1/11 - All done weaving in the ends left from sewing the squares together. Now it’s border time.

01/28/11 - Done with the border. I did the miter square border from the 1st Mason-Dixon Knitting Book. Now blocking!

I think I have Noro from pretty much every yarn shop in greater metro Atlanta.
