Overall, I’m pretty happy with this pattern. Most of it was clear and easy to follow, and for the parts that weren’t, it was pretty easy to find advice on here or to tweak it until it looked right.
2/21/14: Made and attached the feet today. I didn’t like how pointy the toes were, so I only made the “big toe” on each foot with a triple crochet, and did three others with double crochet in place of the triples. It doesn’t quite stand up on its own, but I suspect if you made a couple of subtle increases to lengthen the foot, it might.
2/20/14: Made and attached the arms tonight. (http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/techniques/1181482/1-25) The discussion board above helped a TON with understanding everything after the thumb.
2/19/14: I’m adding a little shaping here and there with increases and decreases to make it a little more wide than round and bring the shape in a little around the middle, and then flare out a bit on the bottom half. I don’t want it to look like a marshmallow. :)
Also, I did the eyes with some worsted weight black yarn, just a magic circle with three single crochet, and then pulled tight. When I attached them, I tied them together on the inside with just enough tension that it sinks them in and adds some dimension around them. I couldn’t tell you what I did with the mouth, just kind of messed with it until I was happy with the look, using the shape of the single crochets to make one “tooth” stand out.
