I had NO idea how much I loved this skein (twist sock club, January 2015) until I started winding it into a ball. It is gorgeous!
Decided to go down a needle size because I know twist sock runs slightly on the lighter side of fingering and I don’t want the stitches to be too loose post-blocking.

I’ve been wavering on whether to start the lace section earlier than the pattern suggests, because running out of yarn seems to be pretty common in other projects of this pattern. I feel okay about the amount of yarn I have left, but don’t want to underestimate the tassels.

Started to get nervous about how much yarn I had left, so I started the lace section two rows early, and only did four rows between lace sections instead of eight. Also didn’t do any extra rows after I ended the second lace section. Wasn’t sure how much yarn the bind off would eat up.
Rather than use the pattern bind off instructions, I just went up several sizes on the right needle and made sure to loosen up my stitches. Worked fine. Made three tassels, and turns out I still have a little yarn left - oops. Maybe I’ll just use the rest for a couple of slender rows in my Hedgehog Fibres “Outline” project.
Overall a great pattern and I’ll definitely make it again. So, now it’s blocking and when it’s dry I’ll sew on the tassels and upload some pictures!
(6th photo is what I had leftover, in comparison to an apple. I don’t have anything to weigh it with, but it would probably be enough for another couple of rows without running out. Next time I will definitely start the first lace pattern 10 or so rows sooner to allow a little more space between the two sections.)
