Apologies if my project notes are a little jumbled, I have a few different things to say and I’m just going to throw them up here and hope they don’t give you a headache. :)

Long hours at work slowed this project down considerably, otherwise it progressed surprisingly fast and didn’t require much focus. (Which I love, because I can knock out a bunch of rows while watching tv before bed.) My only tiny hangup was that I chose a yarn slightly over gauge and had to tinker a bit so that it wouldn’t become either massive (and a major yarn-eater) or end up with a weird number of repeats in the lace border. Of course, I came up short on the white yarn I was using for the border anyway and had to sort of make the last few rows my own, so it’s neither here nor there.

That aside, I’m just going to say it, Bernadette Ambergen is my favorite crochet pattern designer of all time. It’s true. Izumi is my absolute favorite of all my completed pieces, and this pretty number gives her a run for her money. So in parting, #1 make sure you have enough yarn and #2 this turned out absolutely beautifully, as has everything that I have made from this designer.

Finally posted photos post-blocking, it took forever to dry but wow did the drape turn out nice, it is so soft. Blocking really, really helped the lace border smooth out and open up, too.
