It looks enormous on me, but it will look great on my dad. I used a larger hook to avoid wrist strain and make it a bit more slouchy for him :)

Mods: I followed the pattern until I thought it was large enough for him, then decreased with 2dctog in every second st. This was so the hat could “hug” his head. Dad likes to wear a hat as he sleeps, when it is cold.
