Busted out my new electric ball winder during the opening ceremony. The Ravellenic games are about trying new things. The new ball winder is going to take some getting used to but is interesting. Now to cast on and try out my first pair of socks with an afterthought heel.

Decided to do solid color heels and toes. I did a bit of stash diving for coordinating yarn.

Picking up stitches for socks.

Finished Socks. Picked out first heel and reknit using the Variation notes at the end of the pattern. Also knit the toes using the Variation notes. Much cleaner deceases. This was my first afterthought heel. Interesting. Not sure if I like it or not. But I am happy to learn a new construction technique.
