Warm & durable socks for my daughter.
These are going to be cozy house socks.
I’d like to say that “tube socks for kids is better option” doesn’t work for us. I remember getting tube socks as a child and disliking them with all my passion. My daughter is the same way.

Double stranded sample gave me 24 st x 35 rws = 10 x 10 cm

Notes

Cast on 44 sts on DPNs with German twisted cast-on.
Ribbing 1 x 1 for 4”= 37 rows

Stockinette - 5 rows

Heel:

• knit 11 sts, turn, purl 22
• heel flap, stockinette - 18 rows
• turn heel - k13, ssk, k1, turn, sl1, p5…, 14 sts remains
• heel gusset - pick up 11 sts on either side 44 sts

Stockinette - 29 rows

Toe decreases: row of 4 decr., row of stockinette , repeat until 5 sts on each needle remains
decr. in each row until only 8 sts remains

Graft - love to graft in side-to-side fashion. This way there are no ears!

Heel is not re-enforced as there are enough cotton and manmade fibers in the mix.

Took me two days to make both socks!
