The cotton/acrylic yarn isn’t a great choice but was in the stash awaiting use. Wool would be better, at least for the upper sock. A lot of thought went into this pattern’s interesting and challenging construction. One does need to play close attention to at least half of work…only the upper front & back include repetitive work.
The slippers are a bit too big. They fit okay over socks but on bare feet are loose. Although I wear a size 9 shoe, I worked the next smaller size (7-8) in the pattern. My feet and ankles are slender. I wove in a yarn strand as a tie around the ankle.
