This yarn caught my eye…resonating all my favorite colors from the big box of 64 Crayons.

At some point, later than it should have, it dawned on me that after Row 5, the odd numbered rows match the st count on the first 1/2 of the row and the even numbered rows the st count on the second half. That made it easier to make sure I’d not gone astray within a section. Although there is a right side to this pattern, the difference is subtle so when tied in the front it doesn’t draw the eye/look messy.

Having plenty of yarn left after Row 140, I decided to complete the full block of garter (152 rows, 303 sts total). That solid flow through the mesh is quite appealing to me. The shawl is bound off with Channel Island BO. No other modifications were made to the pattern.
