The main colour is handspun and hand dyed in a ‘bluebell blue’. To eke out the quantities, used the larger yoke from the Foxgloves pattern, which I think looks more bluebell-like than the smaller borders which are a bit more like tulips. Colourwork borders are in Jamiesons shetland, and cream background is local organic wool.

The yarn was happier in a DK tension so essentially ignored the pattern instructions and designed it myself with the invaluable Ann Budd’s Handy Book of Sweater Patterns. Careful to ensure that the number of stitches fitted the pattern repeats.

Provisional cast on at the bottom of the lower colourwork section as I’m not even sure that I have enough handspun for welts. Same with the sleeves. Fortunately, on getting up to the armholes, it is clear that it is panning out well, so have knitted the welts & can carry on knitting upwards.
