Ribbing: Picked up 176 st at the hem (this is a multiple of 4), picked up 2 stitches from every blue, black and yellow row, but grabbed 3 stitches on the reds, and an extra stitch in between each triangle.

Picked up 254 st for the button band/neckline - ~27 st per half triangle since I picked up an extra stitch at the corner for every triangle and square. Pattern did not specify how many stitches to pick up for the squares, so I picked up one in every double crochet and every space, then an extra in the corner for ~26 stitches for both squares.
