Ended up about a size 18months. Could have made everything a bit longer and made a size 2 or 3 the sleeve was plenty wide enough.

Picked up sts for the hood- added a few as I knit in two lines about 12 sts apart. When tall enough did the short row heel turn thing like zaika hat but backwards. Worked really well

Picked up and knit both fronts and hood separately as the pattern shows.

Easy knitting - pattern is way more complicated than it needs to be. I was happy to pay for it as the style is really clever just awkwardly written.
