Knitting size XL. I’m probably pretty much on gauge for a change. Knitting with sock-weight yarn held double to get DK-weight. This also makes it easier to mix dye baths.
After finishing all instructions for CC, switch to main colour and pause increases to start on short rows.
The main goal of the short rows is to lift up the back neck by 2 to 5 centimeters to 1 inch to make sure the back of my neck doesn’t get cold.
Short rows
- Knit from BOR to 2nd marker (back sleeve marker). K2, W+T
- Purl to other back sleeve marker, P2, W+T
- Knit to wrapped stitch, pick up wrap and knit it together with the stitch tbl, k4, W+T
- Purl to wrapped stitch, pick up wrap and purl it together with the stitch, p4, W+T
- Continue in this fashion, each time adding four stitches from the last W+T to the next W+T until 8 rows have been worked (4 there and 4 back again -- or as needed for the additional 2 cm to 2.5 cm extra height on the back neck edge only)
- Knit to the end of the row and continue with the pattern as stated, including increases.
- Don’t forget to pick up the final wrap and knit it together with the stitch it was wrapped around when you get to it on the first round (maybe mark it with a stitch marker to make sure you won’t overlook it)
STARTING OVER!
The first attempt was way too wide in the neck and body for me, so I frogged everything.
Casting on size M instead.
Then during the first increases, increase to size L.
Knitting the yoke in the round as well.
The whole jumper weighs 587 grams,
Blue yarn = 83 grams
Purple 587-83 = 504 grams

Ripped out the original cuff, then added 12 centimetres to each sleeve. Which boils down to:
+18 rows of straight stitches
+ 20 rows of moss stitch
