Notes

Greg says he has a 23” head (size 7-3/8 hat).

Started CO 104 sts. (bottom edge) with 2 strands held together of plain wool.

Switched to 1 strand plain wool and 1 strand mohair after about 2-inches up from edge (cuff is plain).

I used 20” - size 8 needles and did not get the gauges, but figured the double yarns and larger size hat I wanted to make, it would compensate and come out right.

A gamble, but I guessed right, thank goodness, and the hat fit the recipient nicely.

I did not make the hat as long/tall as the pattern indicated, also a compensation for the gauge being bigger than it was supposed to be, so the upper sections do not have an equal amount of rows to the lower portion (i.e., less rows worked in the two top sections).

Really like this pattern and will make it again - easy and love the simple but effective design, plus it’s versatile in respect to yarns and needles.
