Using size 4 circular needles, Pomfret (wool sport) yarn, cast on 198 sts = 1-1/2 inch high (vertically) each strip x 7-1/2 long (horizontally). However, seems to stretch a bit from right to left (horizontally) as strips are added. Seemed to grow to 8” wide after 2 colored strips were added -- total strips: 5 in repeating colors.
This was knitted for a 6-cup brown betty, measuring 8” across x. 7” high.

This needs a lining for warmth and sturdiness (to avoid floppiness when off the teapot). Photos show without lining. NOTE: Photographed on two different shaped teapots.

Really time consuming to cast-on and knit the first row of the 198 sts. for each strip -- tortuous. Oh, not to mention the ga-zillion ends to weave in… Will not use this pattern again.
