This is the follow-up to the Vintage Baby Cardi that I knit for a pregnant friend. I had decided to press my luck and knit for a girl even though she didn’t know what she was having…and of course, she had a boy! So now this cardigan is for new baby Micah, who at the time of writing is less than one day old. :)

Good thing Micah is a newborn! My gauge was way smaller than in the pattern (surprise, surprise, this always happens to me), so the sweater is pretty teeny tiny. Oh well, hopefully he can wear it a couple of times before he grows out of it. I was under a time crunch so didn’t really want to start again with a heavier yarn.

Only real mod was to do kfb increases instead of the backwards loop…I felt like making the backwards loops was slowing down the pace and rhythm of my knitting too much (plus I was worried it would leave a hole).

I thought the leather buttons were a cute touch!
