Notes

Well. I think this was the most stressful sweater I have ever knit! I had a lot of issues with this pattern. My main complaint was that there was no schematic given for each piece, and so I wasn’t sure if my pieces were turning out the correct size as I was knitting them. I knit the fronts first and then thought they were too big so decided to knit the back in a hybrid size between S and M. But then it turns out that the pattern is written such that the fronts are bigger…not sure why. Anyway, I was frustrated because even after messaging the designer, I still couldn’t get a schematic, and while that would be fine for a free pattern, I don’t think it’s acceptable for a pattern that I had to pay for. Even if it wasn’t included initially, it should have been amended. On a similar note, the sleeve cap was written too small, and I ended up compensating as many others have, by essentially doubling the number of rows. I think this, too, should have been fixed. Okay, end rant!

I do love the look of this sweater in general. I’m not totally happy with it on me specifically; I don’t think it’s the most flattering. I feel like the shoulders look very broad, and the double layer in the front just gives me some padding that I don’t really need! But considering how much I stressed about the fit, it’s not so bad. The sleeves are quite long, and I may decide to shorten them at some point. But for now I’m going with it.

I loved this yarn. While it was quite splitty, the softness and smooshiness made up for that. I would use it again for sure.

This sweater took me nearly 2 years to complete (I let it sit for over a year at one point) and my life is in a very different place now than when I started it! That kind of makes me happy.

And…DONE! :)
